What a Free Workflow Audit Actually Looks Like

Free consultations have a bad reputation, and it's earned. Most are a thirty-minute sales pitch wearing a discovery-call costume — the "audit" is thin, the plan is generic, and the real goal is getting you on the phone long enough to close. Since that's exactly what our own audit gets compared to, it's worth spelling out what actually happens in ours, start to finish.

Why "free consultation" has a bad name

Because it usually is one — a script with your name typed into a few blanks, ending in a proposal that was written before the call started. The tell is always the same: the recommendation doesn't change no matter what you say, because it was never really about what you said.

Before the call

Nothing required. No forms to fill out, no software to install, no "just view this deck first." If you've already filled in the project brief, that gets read beforehand so the call doesn't waste time on things you already answered — otherwise we just start from scratch on the call itself.

The thirty minutes

Three things happen, roughly in order:

  • Where the hours go. Not a script — an actual conversation about what a normal week looks like, where the phone rings, where the paperwork piles up, what gets done twice.
  • What's actually automatable. Some of what eats your time genuinely isn't a good fit for automation, and the audit says so. A task that needs judgment every time isn't a candidate; a task that follows the same steps every time usually is.
  • A real number, out loud. Not "let me get back to you with a quote" — an actual estimate of what it would cost and what it would save, discussed on the call, before anything is written down.

What you get afterward

A written plan: what's worth building, in what order, what it costs, and what it saves. It's yours whether you hire us or not — that's not a slogan, it's the actual policy, because a plan you can't act on without us isn't a very useful plan.

What happens if you say no

Nothing. No follow-up sequence, no "just checking in" texts every two weeks. If the plan is worth acting on, you'll act on it when you're ready, and if it isn't, we'd rather find that out on the call than after you've paid for something.

See what thirty minutes turns up.

No pitch deck, no pressure, no sales sequence afterward — just a plan.
