FAQ

Everything you'd ask on the phone.

Grouped by topic so you can skip to the part you care about. If something isn't here, call (682) 231-3761 — that reaches William, not a queue.

What exactly does Clearfork do?

Two things. We build websites — including the interactive tools that let your customers answer their own questions — and we build business automations that handle the repetitive work behind them. Both are one-time builds, handed over complete, with no subscription to us.

Who do you work with?

Mostly small trades and service businesses: dealerships, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, auto repair, clinics, salons, ranch services. Anyone with a phone that rings, a calendar that fills up, and invoices that need chasing.

Do you only work locally?

We’re based in Aledo and will happily drive to Weatherford or Fort Worth to do the audit in person. But automation travels well — we build for small businesses anywhere in the U.S. remotely, and always have.

How do I start?

The four-question form takes about two minutes. You’ll hear back within one business day with a plan and a fixed price. Or call (682) 231-3761 and skip the form entirely.

What kind of websites do you build?

Fast, hand-built sites — not page-builder templates. Typically 3–8 pages for a service business, with the pages that actually earn: services, service areas, proof, and a way to get in touch that works on a phone with one hand.

Will my site work on mobile?

It’s designed on mobile first, because that’s where nearly all your customers are. The desktop version is the adaptation, not the other way round.

Will I rank on Google?

We do the one-time groundwork properly — Google Business Profile, schema markup, location pages, site speed, crawlability. That’s what gets you into local results. Nobody honest guarantees a ranking position, and anyone who does is selling something.

Can I edit the site myself after launch?

Yes, and we show you how at handover. For most trades the pages that change are prices, services and hours — those are set up to be simple to edit. For bigger changes there’s a care plan, or ad-hoc work at an hourly rate.

What about hosting and the domain?

Both in your name, not ours — and both are cheap, because these sites are built as fast static files rather than heavy platforms. We set it up with you and hand over the logins.

I don’t have a logo. Is that a problem?

No. We can work with what you have — a truck wrap, a business card, a sign — and build a consistent look around it. A full brand identity is outside what we do, but we’ll tell you honestly when it’s worth paying someone for one.

Which tools can you connect?

QuickBooks, Google Calendar and Workspace, Microsoft 365, website forms, spreadsheets, most CRMs, field-service software like Jobber and Housecall Pro, and business phone or text lines. The audit confirms your exact stack connects safely before anything is scoped.

Do I have to change the software I already use?

Almost never. The whole point is connecting what you already have. If something genuinely can’t connect, we’ll tell you that in the audit rather than after you’ve paid.

What if an automation breaks?

Every workflow ships with logging, error alerts and a documented manual fallback, so failures are visible instead of silent. Thirty days of fixes are included. After that you text William directly — there’s no ticket queue.

Is texting my customers legal?

With consent and a working opt-out, yes. U.S. business texting requires carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) and clear opt-out handling. We register the number and build the opt-out logic in as standard — it isn’t an add-on.

Can you automate something that still needs my approval?

Yes, and often that’s the right design. We automate everything up to the decision and hand you a finished draft to approve with one tap. You keep the judgment; the software does the typing.

How much does it cost?

Every build is a one-time price, published in full on the pricing page — websites, automations and ready-made templates each have their own tiers. The free audit turns any of it into one fixed number for your business.

Is there a monthly fee?

Not to us, unless you choose a care plan. Automations need platform tooling, billed to you directly by the platforms at cost, in your name. Websites need a domain and hosting, also in your name. Current figures are on the pricing page.

Why are you cheaper than the agencies I’ve called?

Because you’re not paying for an agency. National automation shops charge several times what we do to build the same thing, then bill a monthly retainer to manage it — frequently marking the same platform tooling up two to five times on top. Clearfork is one builder with low overhead and a name to make. The pricing page has the side-by-side comparison.

What’s the founding client rate?

The first three businesses in each trade get 25% off any package, in exchange for a testimonial and permission to publish the project honestly. Published prices already sit under the national average; this comes off the top of that.

How does payment work?

Half to start, half at launch. Nothing is due until you’ve seen the written scope and agreed to it — and the free audit happens before any of that.

Do you charge hourly?

Projects are fixed-price so you know the number before we start. For ad-hoc work outside a project there’s an hourly rate with no retainer and no minimum — well under what independent automation consultants typically charge. The figure is on the pricing page.

How long does it take?

A single automation is typically live within seven days. A website refresh runs about a week, a full build three to four weeks, and the largest projects six to eight. You get a firm date in writing before anything starts.

What is the free workflow audit?

A 30-minute conversation where we map where your team’s hours actually go, flag what’s automatable, and hand you a written plan with estimated savings and a fixed price. No pitch deck. You keep the plan even if you never call again.

What do you need from me?

About an hour total: thirty minutes for the audit, and a bit of back-and-forth on wording and access to the tools we’re connecting. We do the rest and check in with progress rather than questions.

What happens after launch?

Thirty days of fixes at no charge, plus written handover docs covering what it does, what triggers it, and how to switch it off. After that, a care plan if you want one — most people don’t need it.

What if I want to leave?

You take everything. Files, source, credentials, platform accounts — all already in your name. There’s no contract to exit and nothing stops working. That’s the entire point of building it this way.

Still Wondering

Ask the awkward one.

Genuinely — the questions people are embarrassed to ask are usually the ones worth answering. There's no wrong question and no sales sequence waiting on the other side.
